Samantha “Sam” A. Marshall- Nikki
Gender: Female
Age: 21 Nature: cougar Occupation: EMT, Navy corpsman (medic) Appearance: Sam’s hair dark brown and falling to somewhere in the middle of her shoulder blades or upper back depending how close to a haircut she is. Although the color is pretty mundane, it has natural waves and easy to keep which she isn’t going to complain about. Her eyes are an average shade of hazel leaning towards gold flecked. Her skin has a natural olive skin tone that tans instead of burns. Though the slightly large nose (thanks dad) and average to small chest didn’t change, she’d been working out so there was less dramatic change to her lean figure. With a leggy, 5’6” frame, it makes what curves she has stand out more. |

She usually has an edgy look when she dresses in civilian clothes. She wears a memorial bracelet for her father.
Personality:
Strong willed, tenacious, Sam is a tactician at heart. Once she’s set her mind on something, she’s able to adapt easily because she’s often considered plan A, B, down to Z. However, whatever she sets as her ultimate goal rarely ever changes. Her plans and thoughts seem particularly insightful but reality just reflects a very observant nature. Most mistakenly assume she is shy but Sam has no problem jumping into something first she’s just quiet.
Her humor is rarely seen, usually quiet smirks and snickers to accompany a dry wit. She appreciates a good joke but will never be the most boisterous in a group. Instead she comes across serious and standoffish. She can be patient but once you cross a line with her, she can definitely hold a grudge.
Sam has a strong, dominant personality and has no problem taking charge. She hates wasted time arguing when it can just get done. Although she has no problem following those she respects. One of those people that demands a 100% from those she leads but gives 110% herself; a lead by example sort of individual.
History:
Born Samantha “Sam” A. Marshall. Yes, she’s aware her initials are S.A.M. Thank you for noticing the obvious. Her parents were high school sweethearts who after high school got married before Sam’s father enlisted in the Marines. Although worried, her mother never the less supported her husband and both planned when they had children as best they could around her father’s deployment schedule so he would be able to be around for the birth easier.
Growing up a military brat, Sam loved traveling to new places. The part she missed was when her father was away on deployments but she was always writing and making things to send him in the mail. She was definitely a “Daddy’s Little Girl”.
Unfortunately, Sam was 11 when two men in uniform showed up at her door with the news no one wants to receive. Her mother handled it especially bad as she spiraled into a deep depression. This left Sam to take care of her sister Pippa and more often then not, her mother as well. Eventually it got to the point that Sam’s Aunt and Uncle had to step in and take the two girls. They blamed Sam’s father for getting himself killed and the whole situation.
Eventually Sam’s mother came back into the picture when Sam was 17. Sam had a plan though and as soon as she could was taking college courses and worked to get her Associate’s Degree for EMT certification. Her goal was to get a degree and then join the military. This did not sit well with her mother who was worried her daughter would end up following her father into an early grave. Eventually it got to the point where Sam moved out at age 18.
The only reason Sam went through to get a Bachelor’s degree was because her father had left his GI Bill to both his two daughters. The Great Reveal only slightly changed her plans as she decided to join the program as it guaranteed she’d be a combat medic then. Her start though was hardly easy, as it seems an allergy to cats is REALLY nasty when a feline species infects you.
Abilities:
A knack for medicine and weapons is an odd combination. Prior to enlisting, she had her EMT certification and is close to finishing a Bachelor’s degree. She might apply for a doctor program or is hoping to get into the combat medic program.
Weaknesses:
She isn’t the easiest to get to know. So while she can work well with her new team, actually opening up and getting to KNOW them isn’t easy.
Sam is an absolute nightmare if she can’t have a hot shower. She has no problem with jumping in cold water but there better be a hot shower afterwards.
Prior to her shift, Sam was allergic to cats. It made her infection extra miserable considering she was allergic to everyone around her, including herself.
Quirks:
Loves to play chess and other strategy games.
Rarely curses but when she gets tired she could make a sailor blush.
Weapons:
She’s got an eye for guns, any sort though she prefers handguns and rifles to the less precise shotguns and machine guns. She’s learning to use her teeth and claws.
Her mind certainly can count as a weapon. She may not be the strongest or most skilled, but she knows how to use what she has and is creative in adapting to her opponent and if that doesn’t work, she can just out stubborn them.
