Makoto Jon "Mako" Abaroa- Aaron
Stats:
Gender: Male Age: 16 Nature: Human Occupation: Soldier Appearance: Makoto is on the shorter side of average, and his facial features seem soft. His golden brown eyes and rounded, unobtrusive nose are a handsome blend of Asian and European, and likewise his skin tone is a slightly bronzed, creme-ish tan. His hair was once carefully spiked and sculpted with a surprisingly small amount of product - a carefully teased modification of bed head that seems to be an almost perfect realization of comic book hair, but his new life as a soldier has seen his hair cut short. He was an expert at flouting school dress codes, and he was frequently seen wearing studded leather collars, faux fur lined wrist cuffs of the same variety, faux raccoon tails attached to his belt loops, and straight-out-of-Hot-Topic t-shirts and belt-buckle-and-chain laden pants. |

He frequently wore some sign, symbol or another that marks him a supporter of the LGBT crowd and complemented his strikingly androgynous figure - yes, he has dem hips - with nail polish and piercings. Once he gains civilian clothes privileges, he will resume his ostentatious ways. While his civilian pants are usually black, with leather boots to match, his shirts range in color from one end of the rainbow to the next.
Personality: Makoto is sly and clever. He tends to be quick on the draw with witty remarks and one-liners. But despite his sometimes sarcastic demeanor, he is never unnecessarily cruel. In fact, he tends to be one of the most accepting of young men, even when others do not always accept him. He is beyond tolerant - celebratory, even, of just about any and all lifestyle, except one of intolerance. He abhors bullies, and he goes out of his way to protect the unprotected and accept the unaccepted. He is quick to offer the hand of friendship and slow to judge in most cases - he is typically dismissive of those unwilling to be as friendly as he is. Perhaps some of his behavior can likely be chalked up to simple rebellion, but he loves to do and say things that flout gender stereotypes. He also describes himself as 'pansexual,' meaning that gender and sexuality do not play a particularly strong role in his romantic attractions - he loves without regard to gender.
History: Born: 27 January 2000
Makoto was born to a second generation Japanese immigrant - his mother - whose parents were converted by Mormon missionaries in their native Japan after which they moved to Idaho, and an ethnically Basque man whose ancestors had settled in Idaho in the mid-19th Century during the gold rush, also a member of the LDS church. He was raised in the church and in a community of LDS believers, but it did not take long for his parents to realize that Makoto was different and that not all of his views on culture and behavior meshed with the teachings of the church. Still, he continued to attend services if only to appease his parents, and it is only at these Sunday gatherings that he dresses conservatively out of respect to his parents. Makoto is considered by some to be a miracle child, as his mother has a somewhat rare condition that makes conception exceptionally difficult. From a very young age, Makoto studied judo at his grandfather's behest - the boy should have some measure of connection to his heritage, after all! While his attempts to teach Makoto to speak Japanese were less than fruitful (he can understand, but he cannot speak), he did succeed in teaching him the martial art, and his anti-bully attitude was bolstered by his grandfather's teachings in both philosophical as well as martial matters.
Makoto surprised everyone when he volunteered to join the new special units that would be infected as shifters. He put forth no preference when it came to which species he would become, and he was assigned cougar per "needs of the Army". He has been stationed at the newly burgeoning base at Stone Mountain and awaits his infection and first shift.
Abilities: Makoto is ranked 2nd kyu in judo - this is two ranks lower than 'black belt.'
Weaknesses: Makoto is sometimes overconfident or even arrogant at times. He can be dismissive of others' point of view if he perceives they are less than accepting of his. His mouth also manages on occasion to write checks even his fists cannot cash.
Quirks: Makoto likes to dress in an attention grabbing way. He can frequently be seen sucking a lollipop or some other similar candy, and his lips are often stained by the food dye.
Weapons: Judo chop!
Family:
Jon Mitxel Abaroa, father, property tax adjuster, +28 years
Yuki Midorikawa, mother, homemaker, +24 years
Vehicle: None.
Home: Makoto resides in the new soldier barracks at Camp Stone Mountain.
