James Lionel deWitt- Aaron
Stats:
Gender: Male
Age: 259
Nature: Vampire
Occupation: Enforcer
Appearance: James is tall and handsome with an intense stare and icy blue eyes. At five feet, eleven inches, he stands just taller than average, but even those who stand taller seem to pale in comparison. He is rugged, angular, and hard, while somehow, in other ways, remaining soft and curved. For example, while his jaw is strong and square, his chin still retains some measure of boyishness with a dimple, and his nose, while broad and hawk-like, manages to seem just the slightest bit button-like all the same. His hair is dark, sandy blond, kept short and straight. His skin is pale, but it seems as though it contains some remnant or memory, perhaps, of a tan. He is muscular and fit, seeming almost as though he might be carved from marble.
Personality: James is smart, and he knows it. He does not flaunt it. In fact, he is somewhat humble about his intelligence, almost as though he intends to hide it. He would much rather be underestimated than overstate his case. He has a strong drive to excel at whatever his goal, and he often pursues it with unbending perseverance, no matter the number of his failures, until he succeeds. James believes in fate, but he also believes in the power of human potential to conform to fate or to make one's own fate. Conversely, sometimes James can be so focused on a particular task or goal that he develops tunnel vision and ignores some potentially very important things happening around him. Even now, splitting his focus has never been a talent of his.
History: Born: 4 April 1757
James was born in the lead up to the American War for Independence. His family were pioneers, living in the disputed territory of Maine. His father served in the French and Indian War, after which they settled at Machias, where James was born. By 1776, he was well involved with the Patriots movement and joined the Colonial Army after the Declaration of Independence. During this time, he became heavily infatuated with a woman who tended the wounded, and she seemed to return his affection. When he was killed in a failed attempt to invade Canada, he was surprised to find himself waking from his death in her arms. She was a vampire, and she had turned him at the very last moments of his mortal life.
James’s infatuation was magnified by the new bond between a newly created vampire and his creator, and he quickly and easily fell into the role of her hound, carrying out her wishes and enforcing her will behind the scenes of the Revolution while she went on caring for the war wounded. After the end of the war, the two traveled to Georgia to escape the possibility of anyone recognizing James, as well as for the opportunity to begin cementing their foothold as new rulers in this as of yet contested territory.
By the time the War of 1812 began, they had cemented their hold on the north of Georgia, and James returned to fight in the war, once again ensuring that his mistress’s plans came to fruition. In the same way, she sent James, who soon came to be called her Hound, to fight or act in every major American conflict, except the Civil War.
When the Great Reveal happened, his mistress sent James to Stone Mountain both to oversee the newly developing relationship between the Shifters and the Military, but also to participate in the establishment of a similar relationship between the Vampires and the Military, as well as to keep an eye on the local Vampire vassal.
Abilities: Standard Vampire fare – he is strong and strong willed.
Weaknesses: James has a one track mind. While this can help him achieve his goals, it can also blind him to his surroundings, creating a lack of situational awareness that could be disastrous if exploited.
Quirks: James is very fond of AB- in particular - NOT AB+. Some say no one can taste the difference, but you CAN. You so can.
