Jacob Ryan Davis- Aaron
Stats:
Gender: Male Age: 50 Nature: Bear Occupation: Construction contractor Appearance: Jacob is a large man. A very large man. He stands tall at nearly 6'5" and 280 pounds of what seems to be solid muscle. He is quite bulky with broad shoulders, tree-trunk legs, and lumberjack arms, but no one would ever call him fat. His hair is brown with a bit of silver in his beard, and his eyes are dark brown. He seems a bit rugged and rough, despite his neatly trimmed goatee. He almost always seems to have a five-o-clock shadow by noon, and he often shaves twice a day. His hands are quite rough as a result of his profession. His nails are thick, though he keeps them clipped short, and he is certainly a bit on the hairy side. As a bear, Jacob is a large, chocolate brown Kodiak brown bear. He stands then at nearly 8'0" - the largest bear in his den. He seems as though he could tear a man in half without trying, though his bulk does not lend well to speed. He is capable of sudden bursts of speed when necessary, though over the long run, he is slower than most of his den. |

Personality: Jacob is very protective of his den, in particular his den's cubs. He has kept his only son sheltered away from humans and most other shifters alike. He is also a very entrepreneurially ambitious man. He can play suave, friendly, and teddy-bear well enough to endear himself to most of his customers, and despite his intimidating size, he can generally win their trust. He is meticulous and always performs to 100% customer satisfaction - if not in the first go, then in as many redos as it takes to get there, free of extra charge.
History: Born: 13 February 1966
Jacob was born in the Stone Mountain area to a rather uncharacteristically fertile couple. He is the oldest of three cubs - himself, a younger brother named Jonathan, and the youngest, a sister named Joanna. His father, the den's major before Jacob, instilled in him his strong sense of distrust for outsiders, but Jacob avoided fully taking on that stance himself if for no other reason than because he wanted to build relationships with the locals to further his business. Jacob's father, like him, worked construction, but unlike him, he did not have the entrepreneurial drive to form his own contracting business, instead working jobs for contractors himself. Jacob spent his youth learning all of the necessary trade skills to work his own contracts and soon had grown into the businessman he is today. It was during all this that he met his future wife, Emily. Her father had contracted him to remodel a bathroom, and during the job, he managed to flirt enough with her to interest her in a date. Before long, they were dating regularly, and only a year later, Jacob proposed. Emily took it as a bit of a shock to learn that Jacob was a bear, though she supposed that she should not have, judging by his size if nothing else. He told her before they were married in the spirit of full disclosure, and he offered to transfer the condition to her - a great honor among bears. She was reluctant at first, but after spending a bit of time among the den as a human, she decided to become a bear as well. When Jacob was 28, three years after their marriage, Emily became pregnant with their first and only cub. When Jacob was about 42, his father passed the leadership of the den on to him.
In 2012, his son, Andrew, began a relationship with another man. At first, Jacob was heartbroken. He had suspicions as he grew up that Andrew was gay, but to have it confirmed all but doomed his direct family line to end with him. However, circumstances conspired to give him grandchildren anyway, and while they are not his by blood, Jacob views Andrew's adopted children as his own as much as does Andrew.
Abilities: Jacob is incredibly large and incredibly strong and well-constituted. Something about him invites trust.
Weaknesses: Jacob is overprotective of his son, Andrew and his grandchildren, Noah and Nadia. Though he is able to maintain a proper level of protectiveness for his den, he is still often overbearing and overworried over Andrew, especially, and Nadia who are both softer than the more outgoing Noah, to the point where Andrew feels a bit stifled some times. However, as he is now considered an adult by the den, Jacob has tended to shift his overbearing protectiveness primarily to Nadia.
Jacob is a bit physically slower even than most bears.
Quirks: Jacob has a bit of a bellowing laugh, and a deep voice that carries a long way.
Weapons: None.
