Glynnis Scheiber- Tess
Gender: Female
Age: 25 Nature: Human Occupation: Registered Nurse Appearance: Glynnis is 5' 5" and about 135 lbs, give or take a pasta dinner or two. She has an oval face edging on round, with widely separated grey-green eyes. She says she has 'hair-colored hair,' which means it's a rather drab middling brown shade with no particular leanings towards anything more exotic, even in the sunlight. She's short-waisted, which makes her look a little dumpy, even though her legs are long and shapely. Otherwise, her figure is like her hair, solidly mediocre. |

Glynnis doesn't feel she's pretty, although objectively she's attractive in an average and realistic sort of way. Compounding her lack of confidence in her appearance is the fact that she has no clue how to dress to flatter herself. She's one of those people who can never quite seem to make clothes look fashionable and chic, even if the clothes themselves are. A long tunic and yoga pants can look sexy on some women. On Glynnis, they make her look like she's just rolled out of bed. After having the flu.
Personality: The third child in a family of four girls, Glynnis always felt like the afterthought of the family. She wasn't pageant-queen beautiful, she wasn't athletic, and she was shy, so her little sister grabbed the social butterfly designation. So 'smart' was the tag she felt she was left with, and she ran with it. Glynnis is, in fact, quite intelligent. She's largely overcome her childhood shyness, but still has that 'never quite fits in' feeling in social situations. Which isn't entirely her imagination. She's friendly, and forthright, but she wouldn't know how to flirt with a manual in her hand, and she dances like a mule on ice. She doesn't have two left feet, but somehow communications between her brain and her limbs gets garbled whenever she tries to do anything requiring a good deal of physical coordination or grace.
She's usually the confidant, the smart girl, the wingman, the one to hold your hair while you puke, and be your designated driver. Sometimes, she jokes that she has 'Tell me your troubles' tattooed on her forehead. Which helps in her career, but not so much otherwise. Glynnis is, basically, the classic wallflower, the plain girl who makes all her prettier friends look even prettier when she's with them.
History: Glynnis' shaky self-esteem isn't her parents' fault. They truly did treat all their daughters equally, and are as proud of her academic and professional accomplishments as the are of the talents of their other daughters. However, they're all highly social extroverts and Glynnis is very much an introvert. Thus, her feeling like the lone pebble in a bowl of shiny marbles.
She's had an interest in medicine since she can first remember. Her grades and high school volunteer work helped her get into the highly competitive University of Alabama Nursing School. She graduated as one of the top five in her class. She was approached before graduation by several employers, but it was a tiny, rural, private hospital in Stone Mountain Georgia that caught her interest. Despite her inexperience, she could be a big fish in a little pond there. Too, the idea of the place, being almost an anachronism in today's healthcare environment, appealed to her.
She's become Dr. McCoy's right hand, in a lot of ways. While she was never intrigued by myth and fantasy creatures, finding out about shifters didn't rock her world, the night an emergency patient shifted in front of her. Instead, she was fascinated. She helps Dr. McCoy with home health care for these special patients and is considering becoming a nurse-practitioner in order to open a shifter-friendly walk in clinic.
Abilities: Other than her professional prowess, Glynnis has excellent spatial reasoning. She can 'build' things in her mind, or rotate objects easily in her mind's eye. She also rarely gets lost.
Weaknesses: Still tends to be somewhat socially awkward, and physically ungraceful. She frequently suffers from acute attacks of foot-in-mouth syndrome and is a master at coming up with a snappy rejoinder-- two hours after she should have spoken up.
Vehicle: 2013 baby blue Prius. It's sparkly.
Home: A one-bedroom apartment
Character song: Fair Game, Crosby, Stills and Nash
Character image portrayed by: Adèle Haenel
