Dorcas Sargent- Iris
Stats:
Gender: Female Age: 18 Nature: Human (Cat infected) Occupation: High School Senior, Youtuber (Song Covers) Appearance: Dory is a tall girl at 5’9’’ with promises of getting taller before she’s done growing up. She’s a bit lanky, her figure being mostly limbs and thankfully, much to Dory’s relief, she’s starting to fill out on the breast and hip department, as well as gaining a bit of weight - thank you Grandma Sargent! However, she’s still far from completely filling out, hinting at a more willowy figure. She’s very similar to her mother, with the same straight dark brown hair, full lips, facial features and the sprinkling of freckles on her nose and cheekbones, something she shares with her twin brother. The blue eyes come from her father’s side of the family. |

In terms of clothing, it’s 80’s inspiration that tickles her fancy. Mom jeans with a tear or two thanks to helping around the farm, cold shoulder tops, denim jackets, sneakers, oversized hoodies and christmas sweaters, and sometimes she’ll pull out a skirt for a day she expects not to work. In sum, comfort and a hint of modesty is all she worries about.
Personality: With a sunny disposition and a cheerful demeanor, it’s hard to dislike Dory, because she also makes sure not to be too abrasive to anyone. Yes, she enjoys talking and sharing her opinions, but more often than not she’ll leave that for when she's with her family.
She's a busy bee, and if she's not talking or doing something she's most definitely not okay. Her social life, even though with rather selected company, never fails to give her something to do. As long as there are people, she's alright.
Of course this extroversion comes with the side effect of Dory being very emotional, something she isn't able to hide. Insecurities about what people think of her or her family come in waves that leave her pensive and slightly anxious. Regardless, Dory thinks herself infinitely blessed and, if not in a depressive state, tends to process anxiety as excitement, self-deceit in order to not be a burden on anyone by shutting down. Her family is a source of pride, and the fact they approve of her choices means everything to her, reason why you’ll only see Dory angry if you dare hurt or insult her family.
While being more spiritual than religious, Dory is involved with church events with her grandmother, attends church every Sunday with her and her older brother, and tries to make sure she doesn’t slip up in terms of behaviour. After all, just because she’s young doesn’t excuse her of anything.
History: Never having met both her parents, Dory isn’t sure if she’s thankful for escaping a difficult childhood or saddened that she never got to know those that put her in this world.
Born 27th October 2000, Dory’s childhood was marked by overprotective brothers, a lamenting grandmother and a uncle that didn’t know what to do with a baby, much less two and babysitting. There were times where food had been scarce, where she would watch her three eldest brothers return home from their part time work, exhausted, only to wake up early in the morning and do it all again. As it went, her admirance towards her brothers only grew, no matter how overbearing and chaotic they could be.
As soon as she could, Dory started to help around the house demanding such, doing as best as she could in school to keep from burdening her family. Adam was like a father to her, the rest of her brothers a support she could count on, her uncle, through stories of his youth, was the one that showed her how inappropriate things could get - he never knew exactly when to shut up, bless his heart - and her grandmother was the one that first taught her what being a girl was like and how she should behave.
It was in 2016 that Dory felt her life go through the most changes. Not only did her brother Isaiah come out - which honestly wasn’t a surprise - but shape shifters turned out to be true! The heroes and heroines of her favorite books turned out to be true! Her excitement would’ve lasted longer if her brothers, Gideon and Caleb, didn’t move out and join the army.
Now, Dory’s just trying to live a quaint life, wondering if bunny shifters exist and what she’s going to do for a living in the future.
Abilities: Bow and arrow. Gun. Guitar. Her voice is soft and almost husky as she sings. She’s very understanding of other people’s views when it comes to faith.
Weaknesses: Dory is very aware of people around her, and what gossip is circling around somewhat always ends up reaching her ears. She’s emotional, so her perspective and opinions about someone are oftentimes shaped by what she feels.
Quirks: She enjoys bedazzling many things, like her brother’s sneakers and her twins favorite t-shirt. Despite attending church, Dory’s more spiritually inclined, having the complete Spiritism codification in her bookshelf, studying it every week diligently. She loves reading romances, especially ones with werewolves and shapeshifters, so she was absolutely ecstatic when they turned out to be true.
Weapons: A pink pistol, courtesy of her brothers Gideon and Ezra. Joke’s on ‘em, it’s bedazzled now.
Family:
Adam, Bartholomew, Caleb, Ezra, Gideon, Isaiah, Lucas - brothers, in order of birth.
Frank and Adeline Sargent - estranged parents, deceased
Marie Sargent - grandmother, 76 (NPC)
Jeremiah Sargent - uncle, 57, plumber (NPC)
Vehicle: Lavender bike with bedazzled wheel rims and a skateboard.
Home: Family house, along with his brothers, sister, grandmother and uncle. It has a large backyard, a shed and a small repurposed barn.
