Gender: Male Age: 33 Nature: Cougar Occupation: Former special forces scout. Current military trainer. Appearance: Appearance: He has curly hair which is a natural white-blond, brushing the top of his shoulders. His grayish eyes sometimes seem as if they're looking right through a person - and other times as if they have nothing 'home' behind them. He has a 'delicate' look about his bones, making him seem fragile. His pale skin doesn't help - he burns but never tans, so he stays out of the sun, using sunblock when it can't be avoided. His mouth is wide, with a full bottom lip. His hands are small but callused. His voice is a soft tenor, and his shoulders haven't become as broad and 'manly' as he'd hoped when younger. Instead he's become leanly muscled, though his bones still have that annoying (to him) fragile appearance. He's been attempting to grow a beard, though the hair on his chin seems to dislike growing. The rest of his hair seems to be in the correct locations, though it's also rather light; an appearance not much helped by the pale colour of his hair. |

When not wearing uniforms, Dallas chooses bright, almost gaudy, clothes; though at least he picks solid colours over patterns. He's definately a peacock, and loves to be surrounded by colour. His hair is military short.
Personality: Dallas is slow to trust others, but when he becomes friends with someone he'd walk through fire through them. He's got some issues from his days as a male prostitute, and often assumes others' motivations to be less than pure, though his sexuality has been mostly bottled up and hidden since he joined the army; his slips brushed off as jokes as bisexuality never seemed to occur to anyone as a possibility.
A proud man, his temper sometimes gets the better of him, though he mostly works out his frustrations either through exercising or sex. He's a strong tendency towards vanity, which he's suppressed since realizing his preference towards men, though if army regulations permitted it, he'd grow his hair out.
He's been a loner for most of his life, not even having a best friend in high school, but it's never bothered him. Not having had friends meant he never had to deal with other peoples' personal dramas, and he could sleep with whoever he felt like sleeping with. Then Ellis happened, a one night stand that somehow became more, and now Dallas would walk through fire and back for him.
History:Dallas has vague memories of his mother happy, smiling and laughing; but when he ran away from home at the age of twelve, he only knew a woman who'd been beaten down by a hard life, who sold herself for a pittance on a street corner in order to keep a meager roof over her head. Having grown up around whores and drug addicts, he thought nothing of associating with that type of person in his new home, and when a gentleman made a very generous offer... well, Dallas thought it a good deal. It was just as well the john paid so well that time, as Dallas wasn't able to do much of anything for a few days afterwards, though the lure of large amounts of money for a few minutes work resulted in him accepting more such offers from men of extremely questionable morals who wished to spend time alone with the angelic, androgynous boy. He learned to exploit his appearance of innocence, and even managed to talk a police officer in to giving him a lift 'home' during a raid by convincing the man that he'd taken the wrong bus and had just come in to use the phone. It also helped that Dallas had a very respectable seeming client whose appearance had that officer assuming he'd taken the boy back to his father.
Life was good for a few years; Dallas avoided social workers, and therefore school, he stayed in that androgynous phase years longer than most boys, racking up experience in his job that most boys never got, he had plenty of money and a stable of known clients who never hurt him too badly. He also had a landlord who didn't care that his tenants always sent their 'son' to pay the rent. It wasn't the happiest life, but Dallas had no problem with it.
Then disaster struck; his voice broke, and puberty settled in for good. Dallas found himself wishing that he'd spent less money on computer games as he finally found himself competing with every other male sex worker; not trying to attract the perverts but trying to attract gay men. Not always able to pay the rent, at the age of 15 he found himself homeless. He then discovered that a dirty 16 year old had a much tougher time convincing police officers than a clean 13 year old that he had a good home. Escorted to a foster home, he was horrified to discover that in 'the system' he was expected to go to school, to ask permission to go anywhere... Dallas and rules just didn't get on, it seemed, and he found himself being shuffled from foster home to foster home.
Then he landed in a foster home with a difference; his new 'foster father' was military, and expected his home to be orderly and his children the same. Dallas found out the hard way that rule breaking had different results here; whereas in other foster homes he'd been 'grounded' or hit, in this home breaking the strict rules resulted in him being dragged out of bed at 4am for a long run. The slender boy finally began to gain muscles at the same time as he finally learned not to swear in front of his foster mother. Shortly afterwards, the school he was being sent to now finally understood why Dallas never took notes in class or did his assignments. Dallas couldn't read or write. His foster parents paid several specialists to test Dallas, and they finally decided to send him to a residential school for teens with learning problems and six months later he was reading and writing, though he still wasn't caught up to his peers.
He discovered that school could be fun, due to the academy's use of hands on educational techniques, and was soon, for the first time in his life, voluntarily involved in social activities – mostly sport. He even learned to be less publicly vocal about his sexual preferences His antisocial tendencies under control, Dallas was allowed on school outings, and was in New York City with his class the morning of September Eleven, 2001. Dallas found himself having to calm his more sheltered classmates down, and helped to direct the class through the city which suddenly had no trains or buses running. His foster parents arranged for extra lessons, and Dallas graduated High School only one year older than most of his classmates - at the top of his class, having had a couple of internships and been involved in several sports teams.
Grateful to Mom and Dad for what they'd done for him, and surrounded by classmates who wanted revenge for 9/11, Dallas turned down the offer of a sports scholarship and enlisted in the Army, and discovered boot camp reminded him a bit of his first year at the Gunters' house. He did well, and it seemed his foster parents had set him up for a good life, and he quickly successfully completed Cavalry Scout One-Station Unit Training and Air Assault training shortly after his enlistment.
While at cavalry scout OSUT that Dallas met a young man called Ellis, who he at first dismissed as just another overly social guy, but after they were posted to the same duty station, they started sleeping together. Dallas had no problem with having a friend-with-benefits, but somewhere along the way it became more; a whole lot more, and Dallas arranged for two women he'd walked in on having sex to pretend to both be dating him; even arranging for them to complain about him 'cheating' on them to other army personal. The end of DADT means no more need for such things though he didn't want to be sent to a separate posting than Ellis.
Only months after their assignment to their first duty station, their unit was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the initial assault on Baghdad, and over the course of their military service, they would serve three tours of duty. For their last deployment to Afghanistan, Ellis and Dallas - now staff sergeants - were both recruited to a top secret Special Forces unit composed of infected cougar shifters, and their sense of duty compelled them to accept the assignment. That such a posting made it very unlikely that he and Ellis would be separated was additional reason for Dallas to accept.
After the deployment was over, both men were promoted once more and not long after, offered jobs as trainers of a new, much larger, and much less secret unit of boys from age 16 to 22, who would be infected and serve as cougars against the new vampire threat.
