Caleb Samuel Sargent- Iris
Stats:
Gender: Male Age: 22 Nature: Cougar Occupation: Soldier Appearance: Taking after his father’s side of the family, Caleb is a very tall man at around 6’7’’, the tallest among his siblings. With a stocky and wide built, and thick limbs, he’s an intimidating fella, what with his usually messy, dark brown hair, full beard and hooded hazel eyes, his expression usually serious. His low voice tends to be a tad too quiet for most people, but it seems to reverberate within his chest. When out of uniform, Caleb enjoys getting back into his wranglers, work boots, t-shirt and ball cap. Sometimes, you’ll catch him with a jean jacket that has seen better days. As a cougar, he’s rather long, but otherwise average with a grayish pelt. |

Personality: It’s easy to misunderstand Caleb’s quiet and soft-spoken ways, and he’s had that happen since he was a small child, even being mistaken as cowardly. However, Caleb is everything but. He’s just a watcher, preferring to keep to the sidelines and quiet, only acting when ordered or needed. Task and goal oriented, Caleb enjoys the feeling of having objectives to complete and a steady routine, knowing when to work, to eat, to sleep and to do anything else needed doing. Of course, he can be flexible, but he prefers to do things at a constant pace. His humor is usually of the self-deprecating kind, sheepish and gently teasing, delivered with a straight face until someone finally catches on, then, he’s all smiles. Persistence is his middle name.
In term of affections, Caleb is very much a "show, don’t tell" type of man, prefering to do things for others to show them he cares, as well as giving presents, be it a friend or a love interest. However, what most don’t realize is that how much anger he still feels and that his demeanor is just way of controlling his own feelings, especially when they reveal themselves to be highly destructive in nature.
History: The third oldest of eight siblings, Caleb was old enough to remember everything his parents did and to resent not only them, but also the God they worshiped, with every fiber of his being. As a young child he lashed out, screaming and crying whenever he could, but he soon realized it was pointless, since it only made the bruises and scars multiply, especially when his older brother took blame for much of what he did.
As his younger brothers are born, Caleb started to retreat into himself, speaking as needed and follow his brother’s lead. But that changed only got more prominent after his father died in car crash, when his younger brother Gideon breaks one of his few toys, repressed hatred for his situation mixing with the anger at the broke toy, and he finds himself shouting and grabbing his brother by the throat. It is then that Caleb truly fears himself, realizing he was acting like the father he hated and the fear that was in his brother’s eyes was his doing. From then on, he was even quieter, always at the sidelines and doing what he could to help his brothers.
When his mother dies, leaving them in the care of their paternal grandmother and uncle, Caleb takes to school like fish to water, eager to learn, and starts joining his older brothers in their hunting and fishing trips with uncle Jer. It is there that Caleb finds himself, where he finds peace with the sounds of the forest, the scents of the vegetation and the imprints of the animals that lived there. Soon, whenever he could get a part-time job that would allow him to be close, or when he had free time and he could escape into the quietness of the wilderness, Caleb was gone. Of course, this made relationships with the opposite and same sex almost nonexistent and short lived, prefering to be alone than to have to waste time with people that didn’t really matter much.
2016 mark many revelations in his, not only was the knowledge that beings that looked like a normal human, but stronger, existed, but his little brother Isaiah comes out of the closet. In the midst of this, Caleb sees that the army was in need of people and - both out of patriotic inclination and a decision to become less of a burden to his family - he joins, learning later that his younger brother did as well.
Abilities: Survival skills.Concealed carry permit. Fishing, hunting, farming and whatever he managed to learn from tinkering with cars and tractors.
