Blue Star Inn
The Blue Star Inn is located just outside of the current city limits. The Blue Star is a vintage 1950's motor-court motel fashioned of 10 private cabins and a large central building, owned by Thaddeus "Taz" Lehrer. Newly renovated interiors enhance the mid-century flavor of the Inn, while a small in-ground pool, jacuzzi and paved parking area lend a more modern feel to the nostalgic cabins. The Blue Star is situated off the former main road, in a clearing edged on three sides by 350 acres of undeveloped land. The site of a former dairy farm, the land has been allowed to return to Nature since the early 20th century.
There are four 2-bedroom cabins, as well as six 1-bedroom cabins. Each is equipped with a bathroom, gathering area, and a kitchenette. Free wireless internet and cable television are provided. The cabins can be rented by the night, week or month. There are two lean-tos that shelter the big ice machines, soda machines, and general vending machines. For your convenience, there are two washers and dryers in each vending area.
The main building consists of the registration area, and owner accommodations. Four bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a huge kitchen/dining area, living room, and a recreation room. Also in the main house are the industrial size washers and dryers for maintaining the cleanliness of the motel laundry.
The Blue Star Inn is a comfortable home away from home for travelers or long-stay visitors. It is also the nexus of the local Cat colony, who often occupy rooms and who all gather there to use its spacious acreage during the full moons.
