Benjamin David "Ben" Cohen- Aaron
Stats:
Gender: Male Age: 22 Nature: Human Occupation: Ben is a recently graduated student of history and education and is living off of the last of his savings with help from his parents. He is applying to become a teacher at Stone Mountain Middle School. Appearance: Ben is short, about 5'8", and though he's a little compact or stocky, he is still otherwise not terribly overweight. By the same token, he is also not incredibly well muscled or extremely fit, either. He has lightly tanned skin with unruly, curly black hair and greenish hazel eyes. He tries to keep it trendily styled, but from time to time, he gets lazy and it grows out too much to be anything more than messy and unkempt. When he tires of having permanent bed head, he gets it cut again. |

Ben has a tattoo - obtained on his 18th birthday - of the Chinese character for wolf between his shoulder blades.
狼
Personality: Ben is a quirky kid. He is a little excitable, and tends to come on a little strong to more reserved, introverted people. He is, however, a wonderful teacher, able to make even the most boring or difficult of subjects somehow come alive and make sense. He is loyal to his friends and never cares much about what people think of him. He is a science-fiction and fantasy nerd, and his entire apartment is decorated with figurines, wall-scrolls, posters, and bookshelves full of comics, books, and DVDs. (Most of the money for these comes from his parents, as he is currently without a job.) In addition to all this, Ben has a weird obsession with wolves. Half of his posters - especially those in his room - are of wolves (especially the wolves from the anime series Wolf's Rain). He usually wears a stainless steel Star of David on a chain necklace under his shirt.
History: Born: 31 July 1994
Ben, called "Benji" as a child, was born to a single mother in Raleigh and grew up there with just her. He never knew his real father, though he always imagined as a child that he was a transient werewolf who fell in love with his mother briefly before moving on. His father was nothing of the sort, but Benji's obsession with werewolves had developed from an early age. He always had a very strong affinity for dogs, and he began reading fantasy novels and watching horror movies as soon as he was able to.
When Benji was 8, Benji's mother began to date a very affluent man - a man respectful enough that Benji could look up to him as a father. Though he has, since he married his mother, thought of him as "dad," he never did want to give up the romantic fairytale story he had made up about his biological father.
Ben breezed through high school with no problems at all, spending more of his time alleviating his boredom with books and video games than studying. His marks never suffered, as he had near-perfect recall concerning information given by the teacher during class lectures. When he graduated, Ben applied to the University of Georgia in Athens and was accepted - tuition and fees paid for care of his step-father.
Ben was fortuitously assigned to bunk with Josh Powell and Mica Taylor. An administrative mistake saw Mica placed with the two boys. The trio quickly became the best of friends, forming bonds closer than Ben had ever had with any friends before. By the time the school had realized their mistake in assigning a female to room with two males, the three were able to find an apartment for themselves. None of them wanted to give up living together.
Ben was always awake early, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, making breakfast and coffee for his Roomies. He loved cooking for them, kept the fridge well stocked, and introduced his friends to his Jewish holiday traditions. Between Ben and Josh, the boys made sure Mica never had to spend a holiday alone. Ben noticed, of course, just how much his Roomies managed to eat, but he paid it no mind at first.
Eventually, he began to notice that Josh and Mica always disappeared at least once per month at the same time. At first, he assumed they were dating and did not want to tell him. But his wolfy obsession meant he quickly noticed that it was always the full moon when they disappeared. He gradually put two and two together and assumed that his Roomies surely must have been Wolves themselves, but he never got up the courage to ask point blank, always joking around the issue.
After graduating, the trio moved to Stone Mountain together. Ben intended to look for a teaching job in response to the building of the new shifter-training military base there. Of course, this was entirely to do with the potential for job openings in a rapidly expanding town and not at all to do with the fact that there were Wolves there. That Josh's family lived there, too, made the entire deal too great to pass up.
Abilities: Ben is an excellent teacher and has a unique talent to teach almost anyone almost anything in an easily understandable and interesting way.
Weaknesses: Shy people tend to be driven away by Ben's more-than-outgoing nature, so most of his friends are those who share his peculiar hobbies and demeanor.
Quirks: Ben is weirdly obsessed with finding a way to become a werewolf without joining the army.
Weapons: None.
Family:
Mother, Susannah Cohen, +17 years
Step-Father, Nathaniel Cohen, +27 years
Vehicle: Ben drives a black, 2015 Scion iA.
