Andrew Jacob Davis- Aaron
Stats:
Gender: Male Age: 22 Nature: Bear Occupation: Freelance Artist. Andrew is the author of a popular web comic series and supports himself through donations on Patreon. Appearance: Though short for a bear, Andrew is a compact, stocky, muscular young man with short, dark brown hair and cinnamon brown eyes. His skin is pale from working inside, and he maintains a bit of scruff at all times, unable to keep up with the rate of growth of his beard. He may seem a bit intimidating to those who do not know him because of his size. Despite his line-backer build, he is a gentle man with a gentle heart. Andrew is a medium-sized cinnamon bear - a slightly larger variety of American black bear with cinnamon brown fur. |

Personality: Andrew is naturally curious. He still has vestiges of the naiveté of a boy who grew up isolated from the outside. As a boy, Andrew wanted to travel and see other things and meet other shifters, but his den discouraged interaction with others, and he stayed put, traveling in his imagination, instead. Andrew has a fierce love for his adopted cubs, and a strong sense of responsibility for them. He has a finely honed talent for sketching and drawing, putting his imagination onto paper. He is not the fastest learner when it comes to book knowledge, but he has a knack for learning technical skills. He is sweet and good natured, though sometimes gullible and easily taken advantage of.
History: Born: 16 February 1994
Andrew grew up isolated from most of the world, home schooled by his mother and working for his father, who owns a contracting business doing home and office remodels and new construction as well as installations of security systems, home theater systems, and other high demand home and office upgrades. His father is the Major of his den. Andrew's life was otherwise uneventful until he met his former lover, Christopher Stone, as his father was highly protective of him.
Andrew met Chris in 2012, a bear who transferred from a den in Texas to satisfy his growing wanderlust, very common in bears his age. While the two did not fall in love right away, they were close friends from the moment Chris arrived, and Chris became something of a catalyst that saw Andrew taking risks and venturing out away from home and the den to find and make friends in Stone Mountain and in Atlanta. During this time, Chris had a fling with a local girl, and unbeknownst to him at the time, she conceived twins. It was Andrew's unexpected spark of jealousy of the girl that led him to admit both to himself and to Chris his romantic feelings. While Chris, himself, was surprised at the sudden outpouring, he found that he was intrigued, feeling his own heart tugging him to Andrew.
Though love was new to Andrew, his parents had always suspected that he might be gay. The den was not as supportive as was his immediate family. While they cared little for the fact that the boys were in a relationship, the bears did not believe such relationships could last without the benefit of a pair bond. Soon, Chris's fling revealed that she was pregnant, and things got complicated. The girl tried to use the cubs to force Chris into a marriage, but soon, the den's combined resources saw the girl losing custody of the twins to Chris and - effectively - Andrew's family.
The twins did not shift right away, but within the first two years, both were regularly shifting into their ursine forms. Chris was visibly relieved to see that they took after him, as he had been distant from the pair before it was clear that they would be bears and not humans. Andrew was far closer to both of them, and the strain of Chris's distance from the twins had already caused problems with their relationship. Soon, Chris's ursine instincts began to take over, and he made it clear to Andrew that if they could not convince the den to let them try to bond, he would not be able to resist the urge to leave.
Both of the boys tried their best to convince the den's chaplain to at least attempt to form the bond between them, but as he had no experience with attempting to create a bond between two men, he was unwilling to try, lest there be some unforeseen complication. After failing to convince the chaplain to form the pair bond, Andrew legally adopted both twins as a second parent to ensure their legal status in the event that Chris left. And without the bond, Chris eventually did leave both Andrew and the cubs.
While Andrew had been working with his father as an electrician, soon, it became clear that his passion was for art, and Jacob convinced him to focus on it full time. Having already formed a following through DeviantArt, Andrew created his own website, making enough money through a broad network of patrons to support himself and the twins with his family's help.
Abilities: Andrew has a knack for technical skills. He is trained as a licensed electrician by his father. He has a natural talent for drawing.
Weaknesses: Andrew is highly emotional and gullible, trusting to a fault. Little things can still make him cry, and big things almost certainly will. He is also physically slow due to his bulkiness.
Quirks: Because of his childhood isolation, Andrew is still very excited to meet any and all new people from outside his den, non-bears in particular. He can cry at the drop of a hat and is very sensitive and emotional. He is fiercely protective of his two cubs, but he tries very hard not to be as stifling as he felt his own father was before he met Chris.
